Educational Services

Battling cancer is a challenge. Education on issues regarding cancer treatment and survival can help you mange the wide-range of experiences and emotions that often accompany cancer.

Most people experience a variety of emotions upon receiving a cancer diagnosis, and often the initial concern is for one’s own survival. As treatment begins, however, other issues become important such as side effects, nutrition, diet, and relationships with others.

Texas Oncology personnel have extensive knowledge of cancer-related challenges and resources. We help patients assess their requirements and connect them with educational services and programs that can help – many of which are offered within our cancer centers.

We also provide written materials designed to help patients learn about most types of cancer and their treatments. These materials include information about various chemotherapy drugs and other therapies, as well as about their side effects and management.
